The MobileStore, a mobile and electronic accessories retail chain from Essar Telecom, has partnered with PayMate, an m-commerce company, to offer comprehensive point-of-sale solutions across its 1,300 stores in over 200 cities.

The service will allow customers to pay for their purchases, recharge talk-time and even buy or send gift vouchers instantly and securely via the mobile.

Customers shopping at The MobileStore can make payments by simply entering their credit card details on their mobile over an instant auto-IVR call-back.

In effect customers need not hand over their card to the cashier across the counter or reveal any financial information. Customers can even choose to register for PayMate on the spot at the end of the IVR call so the next time they pay all they need to enter is a 4-digit PIN instead of all the credit card details. Once registered, customers can pay for retail shopping, online purchases, utility bill payments and lots more.

Rajiv Agarwal, CEO and Director of Essar Telecom Retail, said "This partnership will enable The MobileStore to become a mobile solutions store in every sense of the word. With everything mobile related already being available at The MobileStore, we take it one step further by enabling simple and safe payments through the mobile."
