My company is giving me the option to buy a car. I already have a Maruti Esteem, so I thought the second car should be hatchback which can be used within the city by the family. I plan to use my second car during weekends for shopping, making social visits, etc. I thought of the Suzuki Swift, but I want some decent rear space for my two children. The other option was the Hyundai Getz, but I have heard it's not very fuel efficient. Should I consider the Chevrolet U-VA? R Subramanian, Mumbai Yes, the U-VA makes sense for you. It has better interior room compared to the Swift and is pretty fuel-efficient too. In fact, in the Business Standard Motoring Mileage Run, the U-VA clocked over 20 kpl on the highway, with careful driving. It is a well-built car and has decent pep from the 1150cc motor. In fact, we would say it's a good balance between the Swift and the Getz. |

I have a unique question. I can't decide between a car and an SUV. I am talking about the Toyota Camry and the new Honda CR-V. Both are priced around the same levels, so which is why instead of going for a car, I could actually consider owning a good SUV. My driving is limited to the city during most of the week, and I have a Ford Endeavour to go to my farmhouse on weekends. And I have a chauffeur to do the driving. What can I opt for? V Srivastava, New Delhi It's not much of a dilemma, actually. Since you are driven around, you will find it more comfortable in the Camry than the CR-V. The Camry is an accomplished car and the automatic gearbox will ensure you a smooth drive. The CR-V is no doubt an excellent machine, but if you are looking at a comfortable car for urban driving, we recommend the Toyota.Any automotive questions?Ask us at |
