South African paralympian, Oscar Pistorius, has been sentenced to five years in jail for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
The prosecution had asked for a minimum 10-year sentence while the defence has asked for community service and house arrest of the athlete.
Judge Thokozile Masipa, issued the ruling in court. She had earlier found Pistorius "guilty" of culpable homicide but "not guilty" of premeditated murder.
Both the prosecution and the defence have the right to appeal against the verdict.
