Peugeot has decided that bigger is indeed better, and to that end will unveil the 907 Concept at the Paris Motor Show this month. The 907 is a two-seater GT coupé and intended to 'transcend the marque's values' " one look at the specs and you know they're not kidding.

It's powered by a 6000cc V12 engine delivering 500 bhp, positioned longitudinally behind the front axle. Connected by a short propshaft, it transmits its power to a six-speed sequentially controlled gearbox.

The passenger compartment is designed to accommodate two people comfortably, and is set back just ahead of the rear axle to allow for a long hood.

A glazed panel set into the hood reveals the twelve engine intakes and the roof and front windscreen form a single glazed area. Side vents are situated in the front wings and rear quarter panels, adjacent to the glazed roof, and there's a retractable rear spoiler integrated into the tailgate.

The interior is all brown leather and light grey alcantara trim. The steering wheel rim and the gear lever knob have authentic wood inlays.

The instrument panel, although digital, is displayed in analogue style and the touchscreen of the central console is connected to a computer with GPS and MP3 player. Whether there will be a production version is a moot point, but 'Bring it on!' is what we say.

Getz you good

The wait is finally over. Hyundai have, at a function in Delhi, officially launched the much awaited Getz in the country. The premium hatchback, which will go up against Ford's newly-announced Fusion, is superbly packaged and built on a wheelbase that is longer than some sedans like the Accent and the Esteem.

The car has a solid, uncomplicated European feel to it, both inside and outside, and of course, won the European Car of The Year award in 2002. The car will initially come with a 1341cc, four-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 82 bhp at 5500rpm and 11.9 kgm at 3200rpm.

The line-up is likely to later include the 1600cc Tornado engine and the diesel CRDi unit, also from the Accent " now those should be fun! The GL version will cost Rs 4,71,911 (ex-showroom Mumbai), while the GLS version will cost Rs 4,98,000. ABS and 14 inch alloy wheels will be available as options, for approximately Rs 17,000 and Rs 7,500 respectively.
