Cricketer Shoaib Malik's relatives today travelled to India to attend his marriage with tennis star Sania Mirza, hours after he divorced Ayesha Siddiqui, who had claimed she married him in 2002.
Among those who flew to India on a flight from Lahore were Shoaib's mother Sultana Farooq, brother Adil Malik, sisters Shazia Imran and Sadaf Imran, nephew Mamoon Imran and niece Zainab Imran.
"We are very happy that we are going to India to bring home the bride. We ask the people of Pakistan to pray for us," Adil Malik told reporters at the airport.
Asked how the family planned to celebrate the wedding, he replied, "Inshallah, everything will be done in Punjabi style. We will do the bhangra. We are Punjabis, so we'll definitely do that."
The wedding is scheduled for April 15 and Shoaib and his kin are expected to return to Pakistan two days later.
