As a start to the festive season, Shoppers' Stop today announced the 'Down Under Fest' which will run at all its outlets from October 7 to 30. To be held in collaboration with Tourism Australia, Qantas Airways and Rio Tinto Diamonds, the festival will also be supported by Thomas Cook and the Australian Trade Commission, Austrade. |
As part of the festival, the stores will have a special selection of products from Australia such as the Megan Gale range of cosmetics along with Sir Donald Bradman memorabilia. The grand prize of course would be a free trip to Australia which would be open to 20 couples. The minimum purchase to qualify for the lucky draw is Rs 2,000. |

Govind Shrikhande, chief operating officer, Shoppers' Stop, said that this festival was part of their plans for the festival season, which starting now would go on till New Year. "This is the most happening quarter, contributing almost 40 per cent to our overall sales, so we line up activities for this time of the year," he told Business Standard. |

Apart from this, Shoppers' Stop would simultaneously run special offers for their loyalty club members who would also be entitled to special discounts on the Australia packages offered by Thomas Cook. |

The festival would also have performances at the stores by Sydney Showboat dancers and give kids a chance to interact with characters from Dream World, one of Australia's largest theme park. Shoppers would also get a chance to interact with contemporary Australian artists such as Kendall Perkins and Ken Done at the stores. In addition, there will also be customised merchandise such as mugs and tee shirts on offer. |

Continuing with the Australia connection, Shoppers' Stop has also entered into a tie-up with the Melbourne Business School to offer MBA scholarships. Shrikhande said more announcements on this front could be expected by the year end. |
