Interested in owning cars with star value? Then don't forget to visit the auto show during the Mumbai Festival. |
The festival kicks off on January 26 at the Bandra-Kurla Complex. It will include big names from the auto industry such as Toyota, Skoda, Maruti, Mahindra, TVS, Royal Enfield and vintage car Chinkaras. |
"We are trying to include at least four vehicles belonging to film stars. Till now, we have managed to get the Pajero owned by film actress Shilpa Shetty and a Land Cruiser belonging to actress Sheeba. We are in the process of finalising the other two," said Devendra Joshi, director of Sankalp Entertainment, the organiser of the festival. |
The celebrity vehicles will be auctioned on January 29 evening, the last day of festival. The organisers expect to raise as much as Rs 35 lakh for the Pajero and Rs 15 lakh for the Land Cruiser. |
But that is not all. The show will also showcase modified bikes and cars. "During the first three days, we will have an automobile exhibition. In one section, we will have regular cars and bikes and another one will showcase modified and exclusive automobiles not seen on the Mumbai streets," said Bharkhaa Dattani, managing director of Sankalp. |
"Mobikes with modifications in silencers, tyres, gears, accelerator and other internal machinery will be showcased," said Dattani. |
While changing the external appearance of the vehicles, the comfort factor has been taken into account, she added. However, in the case of cars, the modifications have been limited to exteriors. |
"We are also in the process of bringing sports bikes from abroad for the show. Modified versions of Hero Honda CBZs and Bajaj Pulsars will be showcased too," she noted. |
Only the modified cars and bikes will be for sale. Others will only be showcased. |
The auto show, sponsored by Hindustan Petroleum, is also expected to see some new car launches. "Toyota, Hindustan Motors and Kinetic will use the platform to launch their new products," Dattani claimed. |
