Summer theatre workshops for kids.

DELHI
A smita Theatre specialises in organising children’s theatre workshops. This year, they offer a workshop for children in the age-group of 10-14. The workshop culminates in a final show on June 11, 2010.

The Actor Factor Theatre Company regularly organises workshops (for young and old) throughout the year. This time, it follows up with First Act-Beginners’ Guide to Acting & Stagecraft, a workshop conducted by Aditee Biswas, visiting faculty at the National School of Drama, New Delhi. This intensive programme for those in the age group of 12-22 will involve scripting, designing and staging plays.

Film actor Shahana Goswami (Rock On!, Firaaq) will host a seven-day workshop in partnership with the late Safdar Hashmi’s Jana Natya Manch. The workshop is designed for students in the 14-17 age group.

MUMBAI
Kreative Kids organises children’s workshops in theatre at different centres across Mumbai. Training is given in voice modulation and body movements with a focus on improvisation and confidence-building. The age group is 8-14.

Ekjute will conduct seven Young Talent 2010 workshops across different venues in Mumbai. Firefly, an activity centre for children, starts a series of Summer Camp creative workshops, including theatre, music, dance, and other creative arts for the summer. From three-year-old toddlers to children who are 12 years old, the theatre workshop will focus on movement on stage, storytelling, creative writing and the basics of acting.

Creativity Unlimited is holding workshops on creative arts, including dramatics. The theatre workshop focuses on public speaking, elocution and creative writing, yoga and understanding the art of music and theatre.
