You can’t really get too far from the pink-and-red-shaped hearts this season, we’re afraid. So you might as well give in to the romance in the air. Not sure of how and what to do this Valentines’ Day? Here is a guide to where to eat, go and pick up.
Platter perfecto
At Ye Old Bakery, the patisserie at The Claridges, New Delhi, you can pick out some exquisite chocolates, pastries and cake through the week. There is, of course, a special Valentine cake for the hopeless romantic, even a candle-lit pastry, chocolate hearts, chocolate and pistachio hearts and strawberry pavlova. These sweet delights are priced Rs 150 onwards.
Runaway romance
If you want to get away just for the weekend, Leisure Hotels offers a special package for couples at The Fort Unchagaon, which falls 110 kms away from the capital city. At this fort-turned-resort, you can expect ‘romantic mocktails’ on arrival, a special Valentine’s breakfast and the other activities sure to keep you happy and busy. For a couple, a package for two nights and three days will cost Rs 7,200-8,400.
Pure and precious
Jewellery never gets old. Amrapali adds to the celebration with its romantic collection which includes heart-shaped pendants, danglers and rings. The range is available in silver and gold, some with precious and semi-precious stones, spanning the east-west spectrum. You can choose from traditional designs and motifs to the elegantly-European style. Priced between Rs 250-700, the collection is available at all Amrapali showrooms.
Also on the shelves from Jetha Bhai Zaveri is a collection which includes a lovely diamond rose ring, a heart-shaped blue sapphire ring, and a platinum couple ring. The rose ring, studded with natural diamonds in pave setting, may be used as a broach, hat ornament or a hair ornament, and is yours for Rs 70,000. The heart-shaped sapphire ring, meanwhile, elegantly designed in 18k yellow and white gold, is priced at Rs 20,000 onwards. But if you want to pick the platinum couple ring for the two of you, it’s a neat Rs 15,000 buy.
Jack in the box
If you are looking to gift the classic old wristwatch, look towards Officine Panerai’s new Ferrari collection. It’s elegant, classy and stylish. The vintage design is strongly inspired by competition cars of the past: the red hands indicate that it belongs to the series associated with road cars, as does the grey crocodile strap with cayman lining in the characteristic Ferrari red.
The Officine Panerai Ferrai watch collection is available only at Times Avenue Bandra, Mumbai and Johnson & Co, Connaught Place, Delhi. Price on request (but Rs 4 lakh onwards). Or how about a bracelet with a silver lock, and a pendant that holds the key to it? Handcrafted by Tod’s artisans in pure silver, fine leather and precious skins, these two unique pieces of jewellery could definately spruce up your Valentine’s Day. For Rs 30,000, you can buy it at Tod’s boutiques at UB City, Bangalore, The Galleria, Mumbai or at the Emporio, Delhi.
