The new Toyota Fortuner will be locally manufactured at Toyota Kirloskar Motor's plant in Karnataka and is expected to be priced between Rs. 22 lakh and Rs. 28 lakh.
Engine line-up for the new Fortuner will be sourced from the Toyota Innova Crysta, which includes a 2.4-litre GD diesel engine with 149 PS and 343 Nm of torque and a 2.8-litre GD diesel engine that produces 177 PS and 360 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes, while a 4WD system will be offered at the top-end grade.
As regards the design trend, the new Toyota Fortuner adopts a sharp styling that is a departure from the current model. In terms of dimensions, it is 90 mm longer and 15 mm wider than the older Fortuner. It is also 15 mm shorter in height, though engineers have managed to retain the 2,750 mm wheelbase.
Additional features to the 2016 Toyota Fortuner include Bi-Beam LED projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, A-TRC Traction Control (TRC) system, Down Hill Assist Control (DAC) system, electric tailgate, electrically adjustable driver's seat, cruise control, T-Connect infotainment system with satellite navigation and reversing camera.
