Cabsguru, a cab search, comparison and booking platform, announced on Friday that it has closed a deal with Orix Auto Infrastructure Services (OAIS) to launch a premium intercity cab service in eight Indian cities.
OAIS is a subsidiary of Orix Corporation, Japan, one of the largest diversified financial services company with operations across 27 countries. In India, Orix has been a market leader in verticals including B2B rent a car business, employee transportation solutions, operating and financial leasing, etc.
Last month, Cabsguru had raised $200,000 as seed funding from a group of investors led by the Prashanth Ranganathan, founder and CEO, Paysense Services India Pvt Ltd.
Cabsguru will be launching the premium category intercity cab services in Delhi-NCR, Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
Cabsguru is a marketplace and meta-search engine, which lets users search, compare and book cabs from the likes of Ola, Taxi for Sure, Meru and Easy Cabs. It has more than 150,000 users spread across 75 cities.
