It's time for cruise control for women in India. Motorcycle maker Royal Enfield has for the first time introduced an all-women's edition of the Himalayan Odyssey this year to be flagged off from New Delhi on July 9.
Women riders can register themselves at the company's website. The 17-day adventure ride will traverse 2,200 km in some of the roughest terrains and highest mountain passes.
Both men and women contingents will be flag ged off from Delhi together while they will ride on different routes before finally converging at Leh, Ladakh. Registrations are open for 20 participants for Himalayan Odyssey Women.
With the period between the months of May and August being ideal for bike enthusiasts to ride up to the Himalayas, this year will see the riders travel over 2,500 km mapping diverse terrains ranging from the plains of Delhi to snow clad valleys of Ladakh, all over the course of a gruelling 17 days.
Women riders looking to find their share of thrill and adventure on two wheels can register themselves at royalenfield.com/ho/register/ to be a part of the event.
Apart from the participants, the entire HO-W (Himalayan Odyssey – Women) team will comprise women - the service staff, technicians, doctors and crew will all be women.
