Uber has launched uberCommute in Bengaluru, which allows drivers of private cars to share their rides with other commuters travelling in the same direction.
The company had earlier launched this service in Delhi. Car poolers can opt for this service from seven in the morning to nine in the evening by simply pressing a button on the app on a smartphone.
About 1,600 new cars hit Bengaluru roads every day and the Karnataka government and traffic police are mulling ways to ease traffic congestion in the city. uberCOMMUTE is expected to help ease the situation.
