Tamil Nadu gets new trains in Railway Budget

Tamil Nadu got new trains besides a skill training institute in the Railway Budget, which was presented by the Union railways minister Pawan Kumar Bansal on Tuesday. The state bagged several new express trains and one new passenger train.

The frequency of six trains has been increased, while services of eight trains have been extended. The Union minister also announced building and conduct of survey for new and doubling of lines. The state will also get a skill development centre for training the youth in railway-related trade. The centre will be located in Tiruchirapalli. Further, the number of cars in electric multiple units (EMU) has been increased to 12 from nine in 30 services.
