Accounting software provider, Tally (India) Private Limited, launched Pragati "" an 'earn while you learn' programme "" in Hyderabad on Monday.

Aimed at bridging the demand-supply gap in the accounting sector, which is likely to touch 2 million jobs by 2009 going by Deloitte Research predictions, the dual-certification programme is open to the current and ex-Tally-trained students, besides unemployed youth, homemakers, accounting professionals and entrepreneurs.

The two-month programme enables students to facilitate demand generation for Tally 9, the company's business accounting and inventory management software, for a prospective customer, thereby ensuring a source of income for him, while he is engaged in learning.

The fee for the programme is Rs 5,400. The programme, enrollment for which will be closed on October 18, would be offered at the 1,100 franchisee academies of Tally across the country.
