The apex body of IT industry NASSCOM today said its projected 11-14% growth is possible, which will however be reviewed in October.

"The growth is contributed mainly due to mid and small companies, which are growing at around 20%," said Som Mittal, president, Nasscom.

Speaking at a Nasscom's seminar in the city he said, "We cannot judge performance of the industry based on one or two quarters results."

He added, mid companies were the worst hit in 2008 crisis, but they managed to turnaround in the last three years since their focus, penetration and customer specific.

On the geographical expansion, Mittal said, earlier non-traditional markets use to contribute about 10%, now this has increased to 20%. The markets include Asia Pacific, Latin America and others.

"This doesn't mean the US and UK market will drop, its too big to happen. Its just that industry has expanded," said Mittal.
