Anant Dalvi and Akhtar Khan tried to immolate themselves at around 11.45 am. The duo suffered serious burns and were admitted to the nearby St George Hospital in a serious condition.
The two former employees apparently decided to take the extreme step to secure permanent employment with the company. According to sources, police are investigating the issue and the details are still awaited. The two employees were among the 70 to 80 such workers whose services were terminated by Tata Power some seven years back.
According to sources, two people who tried to save the immolators also incurred some minor burns on their bodies. Around 80 people were employed on a contract basis for the company
