4 Indians In Cnbc-Tnt Asian Award Shortlist

The Asian Business Leader Awards -- presented by CNBC Asia Pacific and TNT --this year features four Indian corporate chieftains among the 10 finalists.

The Indian foursome to make it to the grand finale are K V Kamath, managing director & chief executive officer (CEO) of ICICI, Azim H Premji, chairman & managing director of Wipro Ltd, N R Narayana Murthy, chairman & CEO of Infosys Technology Ltd and B Ramalinga Raju, chairman of Satyam Computers Services.

The Indian corporate chiefs will be pitted against the high and mighty from Singapore, Japan and South Korea --- Myung-Kwan Hyun, chairman & CEO, Samsung Corp (South Korea); Mark Fields, Rep Director & President, Mazda Motor Corp (Japan); Richard Charles Helfer, President & CEO, Raffles International (Singapore); Kil-Seung Son, chairman & CEO, SK Telecom (South Korea); Neil Montefiore, CEO, MobileOne (Asia) Pte Ltd (Singapore); Flemming Jacobs, CEO, Neptune Orient Lines Ltd (Singapore).

The judges will have another round of discussion ahead of the event on 29 November to identify the winners of the three awards from among the 10 finalists.

"After a gruelling selection process, the judging panel has now distilled the entries down to 10 finalists - each one an ambassador to exemplify the qualities and attributes for the next generation of Asian business leaders. We were confident that the awards would reveal hidden stars in the Asian business community who were leading Asia into the global economic world stage. The brightest stars in business will be unveiled on 29 November," Ken McCall of TNT said.

CNBC and TNT also present the Asian Business Leaders Forecast on 30 November, a day-long conference which will bring together Asia's most-respected economic and political thinkers in a definitive meeting that will give Asia's business leaders the key tools for success in 2002.
