The four-day biennial event, beginning February 4, is being held at a time when the industry is clocking sales growth of eight per cent to nine per cent in passenger vehicles. There is high growth in medium and heavy commercial vehicles as well.
The only segment of the industry that has come under pressure is the two-wheeler category, where motorcycle sales are not growing due to rural slowdown.

In the two-wheeler segment, DSK Benelli, BMW Motorrad and Polaris from Indian Motorcycles would be the new additions, according to industry body Society of Indian Automobile Manufactures. The expo is a forum for companies to showcase their upcoming products and concepts.
Companies like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Honda, Mercedes and others will showcase new products.
Maruti Suzuki will make the global premiere of its upcoming compact sports utility vehicle Vitara Brezza at the Expo. Honda will showcase BR-V, the crossover utility vehicles, while Hyundai will showcase Tucson.
The event is being organised by Siam jointly with Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India and Confederation of Indian Industry.
"Auto Expo has conventionally been one of the most sought after platforms for the automobile industry. We believe that Auto Expo gives the much needed thrust to the industry in totality and ensures that the participating brands get noticed at a global level", said Vinod Dasari, president, Siam. The last edition of the expo had 560,000 visitors.
The India Expo Mart, the venue of the expo in Greater Noida has been given a makeover prior to the Motor Show 2016. The gross indoor exhibition space at the India Expo Mart has increased to 73,000 sq m. from the previous edition of 69,000 sq m. The venue has witnessed enormous construction in the form of six large halls with an additional carpet area of 37,240 sq m.
