In work organisations, useful ideas from employees die an unnatural death. InFeedo, a Gurugram-based business-to-business enterprise start-up with an in-house feedback platform, connects each employee with its chief executive officer (CEO) and the human resource (HR) department and allows them to share their problems.
The company has raised $200,000 so far. Its artificial intelligence-enabled chatbot, Amber, talks to employees and helps HR proactively, and find those who are unhappy or about to leave. Its clients include MakeMyTrip, PayU, RedBus and Nearbuy.
Founded by 22-year Tanmaya Jain in 2014, InFeedo focuses on companies with more than 100 employees, spread across multiple locations, and thus in need of a binding factor. With absolute anonymity in place, it not only helps employees feel heard, but also lets them vote on someone else’s issue to highlight its importance with the management. In an interactive conversation with Amber, employees give feedback based on their years and areas of expertise.
The company, which currently caters to 16 companies and 100 HR heads, plans to touch 30,000 paid users from the current 10,000, reach eight per cent of the Indian market and expand to $76 billion in 2020.

Although the questions asked can be customised, through ‘Ask me anything’, employees get one week to seek anything from the CEO. As Amber has an in-built human element, it highlights issues with grave importance. Even with a starting range of Rs 50 per user per month, the start-up achieved profitability in mid-2016, and is introducing an idea generation platform that is in direct competition with Yammer and Facebook where, unlike social engagement/gossip, their focus is tangible business results.
