In a bid to support agricultural growth in Gujarat and western India, Anand Agricultural University (AAU) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation Limited (GAIC) for licensing of liquid biofertiliser technology.

AAU will also provide proven recommended microbial mother cultures for starting liquid bio-fertiliser production apart from training GAIC technocrats at its department of microbiology and bio-fertilizer project.

GAIC wishes to have its own facility for production of liquid biofertilisers (LBFs) and as per the MoU, AAU microbiologists will provide technical support in the establishment of liquid bio-fertiliser production plant both on site and off-site.

The demand for liquid biofertilisers is increasing gradually day by day. Looking at the unfulfilled demand AAU is trying by various ways and means to enter into partnership with private and co-operative organisations.

Keeping this in mind, scientists at the department of microbiology and bio-fertilizer project have developed liquid formulations of biofertilisers which are being sold to individual farmers under the “Anubhav” brand name.
