Kerala chief minister V S Achuthanandan will inaugurate the second phase of Infopark Koratty in Thrissur district on Saturday. This was jointly announced by Thrissur District Collector A T James and B D Devassy, MLA, at a press conference held today at Infopark Koratty.
In its second phase, the Infopark has constructed a new food court having a built-up area of 4,640 sft that can cater to over 100 people. A new 11kv, 500kvA substation with a standby diesel generator of same capacity has also been installed.
“With the inauguration of the Phase II, we are simultaneously working on an ambitious plan to develop 25 acres of Infopark Thrissur as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Architectural plans and tender documents have been finalised for constructing a multi-storeyed building of around 200,000 sft facing the National Highway,” said Ishita Roy, CEO of Infoparks in Kerala.
The building would cost around Rs 40 crore and will be able to accommodate 2,000 to 2,800 IT professionals. The remaining land in the SEZ will be leased out to IT companies and co-developers for developing their own campuses. It is estimated that when the park becomes fully operational, it will have a built-up area of around 1.4 million sft that will provide employment to 12,000-15,000 IT professionals.
