Acumen group to enter portfolio mgmt segment

Acumen group, a Kochi-based financial services company, would enter the portfolio management services (PMS) segment on Monday. It would offer the services to individuals, companies and non-resident Indians (NRIs).

According to Akshay Agarwal, managing director, Acumen group, a key feature of its PMS is the process of investment, in which the investment decisions are be taken by a panel of experts in accordance with clear parameters, checks and processes to ensure a margin of safety to the portfolio. The company would offer investment options to suit the risk profile and preferences of the investors.

It would offer specialised themes like shariah portfolio that invests in shariah-complaint companies, contrarian portfolio that invests in fundamentally strong but beaten-down companies, global Indian theme which invests in Indian companies that have global aspirations and the next generation theme which focuses on companies with high promoter stakes on the cusp of change.
