The government of India (GoI) has however challenged the Gujarat High Court directive in the Supreme Court where the matter is subjudice.

Adani Gas claimed that it has to depend on expensive R-LNG supplies from Petronet LNG Ltd, which imports gas, to fulfill the growing demand by the CNG users.

Adani Gas Limited currently supplies gas to over 181,000 domestic, 700 industrial and 1250 commercial customers in Ahmedabad.

It also supplies CNG to 200,000 vehicles through 55 CNG stations in Ahmedabad and Vadodara.
