Aditya Birla plans 17 more stores in Nashik

Aditya Birla Retail Limited (ABRL), the retail arm of Aditya Birla Group, is planning to open 17 supermarket stores under its 'More' brand in Nashik by the end of the current calendar year. The company, at present, has three supermarket stores in the city.

"Nashik has emerged as one of the fastest growing cities. As part of our expansion plan, we are planning to add another 17 stores in the city by December 2008," a company official told Business Standard, while declining to divulge financial details.

"We are in the process of identifying properties in prime locations of the city. Each supermarket store will cover a carpet area of between 2,100 sft and 4,500 sft," he added.

"We have identified two properties at Canada Corner and Indira Nagar areas of the city where we will open two stores next month," he added.
