The company in a communique to the BSE said, "The acquisition of business of Transcend positively impacts solution offerings, newer alliances and prominent in-roads in the large US market."
AGC Networks, an Essar group company, however did not disclose financial details of the acquisition. AGC Networks Inc, the US subsidiary of AGC Networks, has offices in Texas and Dallas in the US.

This acquisition is in line with AGC's growth strategy offering seamless delivery of 10 key solutions across 10 key geographies, it added.
"The Transcend business will operate under the AGC Networks brand and will be led by Greg Forrest, President, Americas," the filing said.
Pennsylvania-headquartered Transcend has an annual revenue of about $43 million and employs 130 people, it added.
"This acquisition will equip us to leverage Transcend's strong expertise and customer base," AGC Networks Managing Director and CEO S K Jha said.
"Transcend's core competencies in unified communications and data center infrastructure, together with global presence of AGC, positions us as a leader in this rapidly growing space," AGC Networks President (Global Sales and Business Operations) Sanjeev Verma said.
AGC Networks Inc offers unified communications, network infrastructure, information security, data centre and enterprise application solutions.
Transcend, which has offices on East Coast, Mid-West and Central US, focuses on unified communications, data centre infrastructure and managed services.
