"Ahmedabad has seen a rise in e-commerce dealings both in urban and rural areas. The city has emerged as top seller, importer and exporter of some of the interesting lifestyle products like men's perfume, lingerie and cotton fabrics. What's more, among rural rankings, Gujarat's Choryasi town emerged as the largest rural e-commerce export hub followed by Kuttalam (Tamil Nadu) and Juhi (Uttar Pradesh).
From Ahmedabad, the top brands that ruled e-commerce dealings on eBay were Sandisk, Samsung, Apple, Nokia and Sony. The city's top five domestic selling include 16GB micro SD cards, colour ink cartridges, diamond jewellery sets, women's casual pants and men's floaters. While top five exported items in Ahmedabad were natural diamonds, salwar kameez, temporary tattoos, sarees and pantyhose & tights, top five imported items included nail art, handbags, skin care travel kits, men's tees and radio control toy helicopters. The census was based on the volume of transactions on eBay.
