Air India flights to Newark and Jeddah on Wednesday were delayed as a section of Air India cabin crew refused to fly. Members of the Air India Cabin Crew Association are protesting the delay in payment of salaries. A crew member said, " We have received half the allowance for October, and since November we have not been paid at all.'' Allowances make up about 70 per cent of cabin crew's salary and is paid to cover the expenses that crew members incur during foreign trips. Cabin crew point out that pilots have been paid allowances for November and they too should be paid likewise. An Air India spokesperson confirmed that there were delays to flight but added there was no strike.
