Sharjah-based low-cost carrier Air Arabia has announced eight additional flights to the popular Indian tourism destination Goa for the upcoming holiday season in response to high demand for services to the coastal state.

"In line with high demand that we have experienced for service to the Indian city of Goa, we are very pleased to announce that we will offer eight additional flights at very convenient times over the upcoming holiday period," Air Arabia Commercial Department Head AK Nizar said.

Air Arabia will offer additional service to Goa on December 17, 23, 24 and 30 for the Christmas-holiday season. The carrier will also offer supplementary flights to Goa between January 4-7, 2010.

Air Arabia currently provides round-trip flights thrice a week between Dabolim International Airport in Goa and Air Arabia’s hub in Sharjah. Tourism is the largest contributor to Goa's economy, with nearly 12 per cent of tourists coming to India visiting the state.

Air Arabia currently operates a fleet of 20 new Airbus320 aircraft, serving 59 destinations from two hubs in UAE and Morocco.
