The Air India has completed converting its four-737 boeing aircraft which will be pressed into service from July 1 from Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, Air India Airport Director I J K Dhas told PTI today.
The cargo service will be identical to the night air mail service which was in operation some 45 years back and the postal department used to exchange parcel-bags in those days, he said adding Nagpur will be Air India's cargo hub.
The first cargo flight will arrive from Kolkata at 2 a.m and return with cargo at 3.40 a.m. While the second flight from Mumbai will land here at 2.20 a.m, followed by another from Delhi at 2.25 a.m and last flight from Chennai-via-Bangalore and Hyderabad will reach here at 2.45 a.m.
After exchanging cargo all the four flights will return back to their original destinations.

The operation will be on six-days and there will be no flight on Monday. Each aircraft has a payload capacity of 12 to 15 tonnes.
Earlier, Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Praful Patel had announced launching of this service and the conversion of old and aging passenger aircraft into cargo flight.
