Malaysian low cost carrier AirAsia on Monday offered three million seats at discounted prices to over 20 countries including India until Sunday.
Air Asia's India subsidiary has also offered discounted one way fare starting from Rs 1390 on various routes starting Monday.
This comes two days after budget carrier GoAir had launched discount sale domestically till Monday offering tickets Rs 999 upwards.
As part of the seven-day big sale offer by AirAsia, the booking begins on Monday for travel period from September 1 to May 31 next year from Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Tiruchirappalli, Bengaluru and Hyderabad to Kuala Lumpur by flights operated by AirAsia Berhad and from Chennai and Bengaluru to Bangkok by flights operated by Thai AirAsia, the airlines said here in a statement.
The airline has rolled out fares Rs 3,399 upwards for a Visakhapatnam-Kuala Lumpur and Rs 3,699 for travel on Kochi-Kuala Lumpur route.
AirAsia India has offered all inclusive one-way fare starting from as low as Rs 1,390 for flights from Bengaluru to Kochi, Rs 1,690 from Bengaluru to Goa , Rs 3,290 from Bengaluru to Jaipur, Rs 3490 from Bengaluru to Chandigarh and vice versa.

In conjunction to the big sale promotion, free seats with zero base fares are also put on offer for AirAsia Berhad flights from Kuala Lumpur to various destinations across the airline's extensive network, such as Langkawi, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Bangkok, Bali, Hong Kong, Kalibo (gateway to Boracay), Melbourne, Seoul, Sapporo (transit via Bangkok), Taiwan and many others, the release said.
The airline's India operation currently flies from six domestic airports-Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Goa, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Pune.
The airlines booking portals saw a huge spike in the air ticket bookings over the weekend as a result of the flash sales. "The airline flash sale over the last weekend brought much joy to travellers. Compared to the previous non-sale weekend (14-15 March 2015), this weekend (21-22 March 2015) Cleartrip Mobile saw a 100 per cent growth in bookings over just Saturday and Sunday, alone," said Subramanya Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer at Cleartrip mobile.
The GoAir discount, along with a Cleartrip Hotels flash sale, recorded a huge spike in bookings on the mobile platform of the company -- Cleartrip Mobile. Cleartrip Mobile sold three times the number of flights than what it clocks during the non-sale weekends, Cleartrip said here in a statement.
