Aircel today announced to launch its 3G network in 18 new towns of Uttar Pradesh (East) Circle.
Besides, it is also ramping up its telecom infrastructure with the addition of 154 2G sites in the Circle. This is aimed at providing seamless voice and data connectivity to consumers, Aircel regional manager Arvind Singh Shekhawat said here.
The expansion of new sites would benefit Aircel customers and offer speed of 2.5 MBPS, he added.
Currently, Aircel has 1,100 3G sites UP (E) and it had posted 22 percent growth in 3G users during last quarter.
He said 3G users wanted uninterrupted experience as mobile handsets were increasingly being used for varied purposes. "We have witnessed an uptake in 3G subscriber growth and our focus remains in offering a strong network to subscribers."
