A section of Airtel's 4G subscribers using iPhones faced network outage for five hours on Friday morning. Both postpaid and prepaid users experienced connectivity issues in the Mumbai circle due to network congestion.
Network outage tracker Downdetector.in, which independently keeps records of consumer complaints on its site, witnessed several complaints aound 9 am today.
Airtel's official customer care Twitter handle was filled with customer feedback on the outage. Customers complained of voice and data connectivity besides poor network for 4G and 3G services as well.
"We always want our customers to have a reliable network for seamless connectivity. We would love to look into this," the Twitter handle wrote today responding to a customer's complaint.
Airtel, the country's largest telecom operator in terms of subscriber base and revenue, has recently drawn flak for its advertisement claiming that it had the fastest 4G network when customers are plagued with poor connectivity issues across the eight circles it offers the high speed mobile internet service.
