With an aim at providing the benefits of Google services to its seven lakh broadband customers, Bharti Airtel Broadband and Telephone Services has joined hands with search engine company Google.As per the arrangement, Google will provide the customised services like email, chat, and search to Airtel broadband subscribers. The suite of services will be offered free of cost to all Airtel broadband subscribers."The company will provide customised home page to customers to give them a new internet experience," Atul Bindal, president, Bharti-Airtel said at the launch event."The portal will make it easy for subscribers to check emails, search for information on the web, share ideas, connect with friends and publish content," Bindal said. "E-commerce applications will also be added to the suite in a period of time."The broadband suscribers will be able to access Google search engine within their airtelbroadband.in email ids in addition to getting the 2 GB storage space, as provided by Google in its email service Gmail.Commenting on the alliance with Airtel Broadband, Shailesh Rao, managing director, Google India said: "Today's alliance provides an ideal platform for Airtel users to enjoy the best possible online experience with customised access to Google's evolving suite of innovative products."The alliance also plans to extend its services and suites to the mobile phones in time to come, Rao added.
