The Morbi-based company, which has diversified into a range of businesses including compact fluorescent lamps CFL, ceramics, snackfood and e-bikes, is now looking at introducing range of power saving instruments for domestic use.
Ajanta Manufacturing Ltd plans to make an initial investment of Rs 10 crore for the project. Currently, the company manufactures power saver bulbs.
"The target audience for the product is middle class, who would have an option to cut down on power costs," says Jaysukh Patel, managing director, Ajanta group. According to him, the product range will be best suited for households using single-phase power.
The company will use Korean technology to manufacture the units. Ajanta is planning to price the power saving instruments ranging from Rs 1000 to Rs 2200.
The group, which started off with manufacturing of wallclocks and diversified into telephones, calculators and other home appliances compact fluo-rescent lamps (CFL), snackfood and even motorcycles.

The group is also exploring opportunities in the infrastructure business and had also bid for developing a port in Saurastra.
