Alembic reported a net profit of Rs 23.91 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005, a growth of 29.45 per cent compared with Rs 18.47 crore reported in the previous corresponding quarter.
 
The company reported a sales of Rs 170.81 crore for the quarter under review, a growth of 16.88 per cent compared with net sales of Rs 146.13 reported in the previous corresponding quarter.
 
BSEL Infra Q3 net up to 75%
 
BSEL Infrastructure Realty, engaged in real estate, property and infrastructure development, reported a 74.8 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 4.37 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005, compared with Rs 2.50 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
 
Income from operations was recorded at Rs 7.88 crore as compared with Rs 4.34 crore recorded last year, the company informed the National Stock Exchange. Other income stood at Rs 1.18 crore against Rs 17.70 lakh in the same quarter during the previous year.
 
The board also noted the receipt of in-principal approval from the Luxemburg Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange for issue of GDRs and FCCBs and also the report of committee is regarding the completion of various formalities relating to finalisation of the issue size and pricing of the offer and other formalities, it added.
 
Deepak Fert PBT at Rs 23.52 cr
 
Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation recorded profits before tax for the quarter ended December 2005 at Rs 23.52 crore, down from Rs 32.53 crore for the corresponding period in the previous financial year.
 
For the nine months ended December 2005, profit before tax stood at Rs 76.98 crore up from Rs 77.47 crore in the corresponding period last year. Sales for the quarter ghrew by 22 per cent to Rs 143.40 crore from Rs 117.67 crore in the year-ago period. For the nine months ended December 2005 sales increased by 18 per cent over the corresponding period last year.
 
Both the company's chemicals and fertiliser businesses grew during the third quarter of 2005. The company's isopropyl alcohol project is nearing completion.
 
Ishanya, the company's speciality retailing project, has also successfully leased out about 50 per cent of its leasable area nearly five months before its scheduled opening and is expected to be a good revenue stream for the company in the future.
 
As per the communication from Gail India, the pipeline from Dahej to Uran will be completed by February 2007. This will provide the company's Taloja plant with sufficient quantities of LNG and ensure higher capacity utilisation and contribution.
