Even days of crossing streets several times here does not quite get you into the habit of looking to your left first. Which can cause bit of a red face but, hey.

I'm hoping I don't start that once back in Gurgaon. Where, on second thought, it doesn’t matter which side you look first because vehicles will try and run you down from anywhere.

Like all good things, Cannes Lions 2012 will come to an end in a few hours from now.

We’re all queued up for one of the most coveted awards evenings, for film, film craft, branded content, titanium and integrated.

The queue's nearing a mile, it seems. However, the two-level main auditorium has quite a capacity. Seating is quick and orderly.

The show will be followed by the closing gala that features a fireworks display. Those used to Diwali in Delhi prefer to concentrate on other patakhas.

Tomorrow morning, a large percentage of the ten thousand or so delegates will leave. Definitely not the best of days to be at the small Nice airport.

Meanwhile, express messages are coming in from friends back home requesting goodies from duty free outlets.

Little do they know only two litres of goodies are allowed per returning person.
