Alstom T&D bags Rs 151 cr orders from GETCO

Power generation and transmission firm Alstom T&D today said it has bagged two contracts worth Rs 151 crore from Gujarat Energy Transmission Company.

The contracts are for supplying 400 KV, 220KV and 66KV AIS substations on turn-key basis to evacuate power from the solar parks in Charanka and Sankhari, which are being set up in the state.

"The substations will play an important role in strengthening transmission network in Gujarat by acting as the evacuation and nodal grid substations. Additionally, it will also improve the energy flow in the western region of India," a statement issued here stated.

The scope of the orders involves manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 400 KV substations with Alstom's key products like 400KV, 220KV and 66KV air insulated switchgear and related equipment, SCADA automation system along with the civil works, the release said.

All equipment will be manufactured in the company's manufacturing facilities in the country.

"Gujarat is playing a lead role in developing renewable power in India. We are pleased to deliver its expertise and solutions in these substations to integrate renewable power to the grid," Alstom T&D India Managing Director Rathin Basu said.

The project is being developed under ADB Solar Energy schemes to catalyse 3,000 MW of solar power generation projects in ADB developing member countries.
