Alstom T&D has won Rs 381 crore smart grid contract from Power Grid Corporation of India. The grid security equipment will allow Power Grid Corporation to monitor nation wide power flows on a real time basis and adjust supply and demand.
The system will detect evolving disturbances in power supply, tap into latent electricity capacity across transmission networks and provide inputs to operators to take action and prevent blackouts, Alstom T&D said in a press statement.
