Ambuja Cements Oct sales up 20% to 17.52 LT

Ambuja Cements today reported a 19.67 per cent rise in sales for the month of October to 17.52 lakh tonnes, against 14.64 lakh tonnes (LT) in the corresponding month last year.

Production of the company, in which Swiss major Holcim has a majority stake, increased by 16.82 per cent to 17.5 LT compared to 14.98 LT in October, 2009, Ambuja Cements said in a statement.

During the January-October period of the current year, the company has sold 168.81 LT cement, as against 155.54 LT in the corresponding period last year.

Production during the first ten-month period stood at 168.98 lakh tonnes vis-a-vis 155.88 lakh tonnes, it said.
