AMUL India's 'Most Trusted' food, beverage brand: report

Has also become India's 22nd Most Trust among all brands

Amul has been adjudged as India's 'Most Trusted' food & beverage (F&B) brand, according to the The Brand Trust Report, India Study (BTR)-2013.

The brand is owned by Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCCMF). There were a total of 123 brands listed in the category.

Climbing 56 ranks over its last year, Amul has also become India's 22nd Most Trust among all brands, the report said. Amul beat Nestle Maggi which came second in F&B list followed by Parle, Britannia, Coca-Cola and Cadbury's. Pepsi which was last year's F&B leader, drops down six ranks to become the 7th Most Trusted F&B brand.

Also, six Gujarat based brands have become category leaders in trust. These include ice cream major Vadilal in ice cream sub-category in the F&B list. It beat Baskin & Robbins and Kwality Walls which came at 2nd and 3rd ranks respectively.

According to the report, another Gujarat-based brand Rasna was ranked as India's Most Trusted Powdered Drink ahead of Glucon-D and Tang.

Gujarat Government owned Gujarat Industrial Power Company was the Most Trusted Infrastructure company, followed by National Thermal Power Company (NTPC) and Jawarharlal Nehru Port Trust at 2nd and 3rd position. Nirma displaced Hindustan Lever to become India's Most Trusted Consumer Product Manufacturer this year. Procter & Gamble was ranked 3rd by the report, followed by CavinKare and Marico.   

The Brand Trust Report, India Study-2013 is published by Trust Research Advisory, a research organization dedicated to understanding and simplifying concepts related to Trust.
