The country's largest dairy cooperative, the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), better known as Amul, today said it is expecting to cross the Rs 10,000-crore-mark in turnover next fiscal.

"In the current financial year, Amul is expecting a turnover of over Rs 8,000 crore and with the kind of growth we are witnessing, Amul would cross the turnover of more than Rs 10,000 crore in the next fiscal," GCMMF Managing Director B M Vyas told PTI on sidelines of an AIMA event here.

However, the group turnover of all the 13 co-operative unions put together has already crossed Rs 11,000 crore in the current fiscal, he added.

Speaking about the recent hike in milk prices, he said with the increase in the prices of all other essential items, there was no choice but to increase the procurement price of milk.

When asked about other plans, he said, the company has earlier planned to set up around 10,000 Amul outlets across the country and has already set up more than 6,000 units.

"We can easily cross the target of 10,000 units and we can even look bigger projects such as to set more 1 lakh outlets," Vyas said.
