Amul to launch slew of new products

The product will be marketed as 'Chef's whipping cream,' and will be meant for cake and pastry decorations and other purposes.

 
Two of its ready-to-serve soups, Masti tomato soup and Masti Hot 'n' sour vegetable soup, have already been introduced in some major urban consumption centres. The products are said to have been received well.

 
Another ready-to-eat pre-cooked culinary item ""Masti Kadhi "" is all set to be launched soon.

 
All these items are sterilized at ultra-high temperatures and packed in multi-layered tetrapacks to ensure a shelf life of four months without refrigeration. No artificial preservatives have been used.

 
Amul's soups, being processed and packed at Mother Dairy in Gandhinagar and marketed by the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), contain milk solids, natural pulps, and no artificial flavours.

 
The company maintains that these soups are low in calories and fat, and rich in vitamins and mineral content. Each pack of one litre soup has been priced at Rs 30.

 
The Amul whipping cream is claimed to be a unique product having a fat content of minimum 35 per cent and excellent stability and firmness after whipping.

 
The whipping produces thick froth of fine cream without any water separation. The viscosity remains the same over time, it is maintained.

 
This cream, too, has a shelf life of four months at the room temperature thanks to the special emulsifier system and ultra-high temperature sterilization.

 
The Masti Kadhi, priced at Rs 25 for a litre pack, is currently being test marketed. It is likely to be launched soon.
