Amway eyes Rs 700 crore turnover this fiscal

Amway India has set a growth target of over 10 per cent for the fiscal 2005-06 (From September 1st to August 31st).
 
"Our turnover, which was only Rs 91 crore in 1998-99, increased to Rs 633 crore in 2004-05. This fiscal, we are aiming for more than Rs 700 crore sales," S Parameswaran, director, corporate affairs and legal, Amway India, told mediapersons here on Saturday.
 
Currently, the company markets 72 products in the country and by the end of August, it would introduce another 14 products, most of which will be in the nutrition and wellness category and cosmetics category, he added.
 
During September 2004 to August 2005, Amway India conducted 29,000 training sessions across the country with an attendance of over 13 lakh Amway business owners, he said.
 
The company has about 4.5 lakh distributors, of whom about 70 per cent are women.
 
Parameswaran said Andhra Pradesh was among the top five markets for Amway in India. The state boasts of four local ordering centres (Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Tirupati and Kurnool) and four order drop centres (Guntur, Nellore, Kakinada and Nizamabad) besides the main office in Hyderabad.
