Andhra Sugars, Divi's Labs, Northgate Q3 results

The Andhra Sugars registered an 11 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 16.21 crore for the quarter ended December 2006 compared with Rs 14.56 crore during the corresponding period last year. Its net sales grew over 15 per cent to Rs 136.62 crore compared with Rs 117.92 crore, while EPS for the period stood at Rs 5.98 against Rs 5.37 during the quarter under review.
 
Divi's Labs bottom line up 73% at Rs 33 cr
 
Divi's Laboratories, a Hyderabad-based company engaged in the manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates, registered a 73 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 32.73 crore for the quarter ended December 2006 compared with Rs 18.90 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
 
Total income rose 38 per cent to Rs 152 crore compared with Rs 110.14 crore. The company's basic EPS stood at Rs 25.54 as against Rs 14.74 during the period under review.
 
Results of the third quarter include operations from the SEZ unit at Chippada near Bhimunipatnam. During the quarter under review, the company had a successful inspection by the US FDA for its export-oriented and SEZ units and a drug master file was registered with the FDA for a generic product.
 
Northgate Q3 profit doubles to Rs 14 cr
 
Riding on the strength of online advertisements, the Hyderabad-based IT services company, Northgate Technologies, clocked a net profit of Rs 13.88 crore for the quarter ended December 2006 compared with Rs 6.57 crore during the corresponding period of the previous year, reflecting a growth of 111 per cent.
 
The company's net revenues, however, witnessed a decline of over 12 per cent to Rs 17.77 crore compared with Rs 20.37 crore during the period under review. Its paid-up equity share capital stood at Rs 16.55 crore during the quarter compared with Rs 13.96 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, while EPS was at Rs 8.99 compared with Rs 4.78.
