Based on EOI submission and subsequent technical presentations, Anil Group of Companies received approval from Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India to set-up Mega Food Park (MFP) project in Gujarat. Anil Group will form a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for the project.
Anil Group will invest upwards of Rs 200 crores for proposed MFP project towards providing infrastructure facilities for food processing industries. Anil Limited, the flagship company of Anil Group, will hold majority equity in the SPV, which will be formed in consortium with the companies from food processing, logistics and infrastructure sectors.
“The mega food park will comprise of world class units with modern infrastructure, latest technology and offer adequate training through centres of excellence along with appropriate market linkages. The purpose is to facilitate government’s vision of promoting food processing industry by establishing infrastructure for state-of-the-art mega food park,” said Amol Sheth, chairman and managing director, Anil Group.
The mega food park at Vadodara will work towards creation of “Farm to Fork” infrastructure. Anil Group will leverage its presence in corn wet milling, food processing, milk and dairy products and hospitality sectors, to integrate different aspects of food processing and agri-business supply chain which will result in increased realization for farmers by creating rural processing infrastructure, reduction of wastage, capacity building of producers and processors and creation of efficient supply chain.
