Anupam Home Appliances has come up with a new range of products including pressure cookers, geysers, pans, and stoves. Distributors from across the country were present in Shimla for the launch here today.

"LPG water geysers, pressure cookers with special designs and coating, saucepans, tawas and new models of LPG stoves, among other products, are now available throughout the country with our dealers," said Anupam Batra, managing director of the company.

"We plan to bring out irons, rice cookers and other kitchenware appliances," Batra told Business Standard.

"We are now venturing into Himachal in a big way by strengthening our dealer network in the hill state," he said. Anupam Home Appliances has a production unit at Kala Amb in the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, with its head office located in New Delhi.

Batra said the company had grown by around 25 per cent in the last one year, touching a turnover of Rs 14 crore.

The Rs-40 crore Knight Queen group of industries, makers of mosquito repellents, is its umbrella company.

"We are already the largest manufacturers of hurricane lanterns in the country having half the market share. We make 5,000 lanterns every day at our Kala Amb plant," Batra said.

These are sold all over the country, to the defence ministry, and exported to countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Burma and West Africa," "We are facing stiff competition from China, but our products have an edge due to better quality."

With the spread of electricity the lantern market is slowly shrinking," he said.
