Revenues increased 6.75 per cent at Rs 4,617 crore from Rs 4,325 crore last year, which was also the highest in the annals of the APGenco, chairman SV Prasad said.
The company earned a cumulative profit of Rs 201 crore after wiping out the accumulated losses up to 2005-06. There are no outstanding payments now, he said, adding the company was working to bring down the production costs from the present average Rs 1.42 per unit. The cost per unit sent out by APGenco is Rs 1.44 now.
The company is executing 17 power projects with a total capacity 9,155 Mw at an estimated cost of Rs 36,386 crore. Of these, Vijayawada, Kakatiya, Kothagudem and Rayalaseema thermal projects and Priyadarshini, Pochampadu, Nagarjunasagar tailpond dam, Pulichintala and Lower Jurala hydro projects with a cumulative capacity of 2,324 Mw are under construction. The Vijayawada Thermal Power Station (Stage IV) for 500-Mw capacity will be completed by September this year, Prasad added.
It would place orders for the Kakatiya thermal power plant (Stage II 600-Mw) and for the Krishnapatnam super critical thermal power plant (800x2 Mw) by this June. As many as five projects including Rayalaseema (thermal), Karimnagar (gas-based) and Polavaram, Dummugudem and Singareddypally (hydro) with a combined capacity of 4,172 Mw are in various stages of development.

APGenco has taken up development of captive coal mine blocks and is now providing operation and maintenance to Vijjeswaram gas power station and AMRP lift irrigation scheme at Puttamgandi. It is also offering consultancy services to power projects of Singareni Collieries Company Limited, said APGenco Managing Director Ajay Jain.
