Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd (AHEL) has registered an increase of 25.97% in net profit at Rs 59.32 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012, as against Rs 47.09 crore posted during the same period of last fiscal year, on a standalone basis. The total income stood at Rs 744.56 crore for the quarter, an increase of 19.82% compared to Rs 621.40 crore registered during the corresponding period of previous year.
On a consolidated basis, the total income for the fiscal year 2011-12 has crossed Rs 3147.53 crore as against Rs 2605.35 crore, with an increase of 20.81%.
Commenting on its growth registered during the year and plans in future, Prathap C Reddy, executive chairman, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd, said that the company has initiated significant transformation initiatives that would further help it to achieve balanced growth across all its Centers of Excellence, geographies and formats.
According to a company announcement, the standalone pharmacy business, Apollo Pharmacy, reported 30.53% growth in revenues at Rs 237.7 crore in the fourth quarter of 2011-12, from Rs 182.1 crore during the same period of last year. With 74 more stores added during the quarter, the company has 1,364 operational stores by March 31, 2012.
Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company Limited, a joint venture of AHEL, achieved a Gross Written Premium (GWP) of Rs 475.9 crore during the fiscal 201-12 against a GWP of Rs 283.5 crore in the previous fiscal year.
AHEL's health care BPO arm, Apollo Health Street, has reported revenue of Rs 490.9 crore during the fiscal, compared to Rs 447.6 crore during the previous year, marking an increase of 9.7%, driven by increased business volumes and momentum in new business driven by a vastly strengthened sales team, according to the company announcement.
