Apollo Hospitals Q2 net profit up 3% at Rs 92 crore

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd has posted 2.7 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 91.99 crore during the quarter ended September 30, 2016, as against Rs 89.55 crore during the same quarter of previous fiscal year.

The total income grew 16 per cent to Rs 1,634.10 crore during the quarter, compared to Rs 1,409.73 crore during the corresponding quarter of last year.

The hospital chain has announced that its 480 bed hospital in Navi Mumbai will be commissioned on November 14. With this commissioning, the capacity addition would be 30 per cent comprising of 2,500 beds over the last three years. The company said that the overall bed capacity is expected to reach a target of 10,000 beds soon.

The company has also venture into the medical rehabilitation space in a 50:50 joint venture with Italy-based post-acute care service provider Kos Group. ApoKos, commissioned its first 64-bedded medical rehabilitation facility in Hyderabad.
